What is StarExplorer?
StarExplorer is a modular 2D space exploration game. You explore procedurally generated galaxies, discover stars and systems, and build your empire across the cosmos. It runs in your browser and is designed for both quick sessions and longer play.
How do I start playing?
From the home page, click "Start Game" or sign in if you have an account. You can play the legacy demo without an account, or create a free account to save your progress and unlock the full game experience.
How do I delete my account or data?
Use the contact form on this page and choose "Data Removal" as the reason. Enter the email address associated with your account. We will remove all data tied to that email (account, update sign-ups, etc.). You do not need to write a message for data removal requests.
Where is my saved game?
Saved games are tied to your account. After signing in, open the dashboard to see your games and continue where you left off. If you do not see a game, make sure you are signed in with the same email you used when you created it.
Can I play on mobile?
The site and legacy demo are usable on mobile browsers. The full game experience is best on desktop or tablet for now, but we are working on better mobile support.
Why is the galaxy so empty?
Space is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. (Also: your galaxy is procedurally generated—try a new game with a different seed for a fresh universe.)
Do I need to water my stars?
No. Stars are self-sufficient. They do not require watering, feeding, or emotional support. If you find one that does, please contact us—that would be a first.
Is there a secret cow level?
We cannot confirm or deny the existence of bovine-themed alternate dimensions. Keep exploring.
My spaceship won’t start. What do I do?
Check that you have fuel, that the keys are in the ignition, and that you haven’t accidentally left the parking brake on. If the problem persists, try turning it off and on again. If it’s still not working, it might be a feature, not a bug.
Will there be multiplayer?
Multiplayer is not available yet. Right now the focus is on single-player exploration and progression. If we add multiplayer in the future, we’ll announce it on the site and in update emails if you’re subscribed.
